Values, abilities and the skills (IM 806)

This sequence matter…

Values is one’s culture and how one is wired up. It is the individual’s core value.

Abilities is one’s character and creativity obtained through experience.

Skills is any knowledge learned through constant practice.

Values are innate while abilities and skills can be learned. So, it’s important to value the “value” first, then the abilities. Skills is the last thing one consider if we have to choose among these three (which we have to do everyday) because it’s learnable.
